Verona in Love: Love is coming back to Verona… even if it never really leaves this city of romance. Verona in Love returns to the city streets from Thursday the 11th of February until Sunday the 14th of February – the 12th Verona in Love will surely paint the town red.
The historic centre streets, Juliet’s balcony, Piazza dei Signori, Cortile Mercato Vecchio and many other places will transform, creating a big occasion atmosphere for lovers arriving in the city.
The event’s content has been fully modernised: you will be able to share your love story via an Instagram photo competition with the hashtags for Verona in Love: #infairverona #seamiqualcuno and #veronainlove
The city will turn red and be filled with symbols of love: from the shop windows in the city centre full of possible gifts for your beloved, to the Lamberti tower, which will be lit up in red for the occasion, and from which you can admire the romantic views over the city.
There will be plenty of wallet-friendly opportunities to visit the city’s sights – Vodafone clients can visit Juliet’s tomb at a reduced price. Two of you can visit Juliet’s locations for the price of one and have your beloved whisper to you from the most romantic balcony in the world.
And if you would like to join Shakespeare in immortality, you can leave a love letter on the Verona in Love noticeboard, hoping for an honorary mention.
You can be your own version of a love stricken “Juliet” for a day: each year Juliet’s secretaries respond to the many letters asking for help, advice and suggestions… would you like to be Juliet for a day?
What if you’re not in love? Why don’t you just fall in love with the city and its flavours instead: a taster of Vinitaly and the City, an unmissable off-site event, will be taking place at the Loggia Vecchia – perhaps accompanied with some chocolates at the Loggia di Fra Giocondo.
Love is a game and we are inviting you to play with the Leaveon app, download it straight away and send lots of ‘balloon’ messages around the city.
